How to Become an Assured Market

  1. Choose a Certification Body - Details of all three are listed under the Certification Bodies section on the Market menu. If you are interested in becoming an ABM assured market, click the button to send a message to the certification bodies who will send you an application pack.

  2. ABM endeavours to provide as much help as possible and offer a pre-inspection servicer to markets.  Before joining the ABM Market Scheme, there is an opportunity for a visit from Sarah Long, Development Manager, who will carry out an informal pre-inspection assesment providing advice on the ability to meet standards and answer any queries. 

  3. On joining, a set of standards and operating procedures will be sent to you.  

  4. An inspection date will be arranged at a convenient time for you

  5. If, at the inspection there are certain criteria which are not fulfilled, there is a procedure for Markets to follow.  This usually involves providing documentary evidence once shortfalls are recified but may involve a reinspection.

  6. On meeting the requirements of the ABM Standards you become an ABM Assured Market!
